Hunter of the Children of the Night

Sirius's eyes could just about pierce the darkness enough to make out a vague shadow. He edged closer to Jane, ready to protect her if need be. He hadn't expected Jane's mother to sound... not at all ethusiastic that her daughter was coming for a little visit.

"What brings you here Jane?" asked her mother Her mother came out from the shadows. Jane looked at her mother. She looked like she did the day that she 'died'.

"Well what do you think I am here for? The party?" Jane asked she was shaking with anger now. "I thought you where dead. Mother" Jane spat out.

Sirius laid a hopefully calming hand on Jane's shoulder, staying silent.

Jane let out a sigh.

"So you came all this way to risk you life to see me?" She asked her gaze saw Sirius's hand. "Who is that Jane?"

Jane smiled. "My love. I became a Vampire Because I wanted to die." Jane spat out

Sirius leaned forward so Jane's mother could see him. "I guess it's not the best of times to be handing out wedding invitations then."

Jane laughed at that. "So Mother what do you think?" Jane asked as she went for Sirius's hand.

"Well he seems to love you." She said. "But if you wanted to die you could have died like a human. You where always a pathetic hunter, Jane." And with that she lunged at Jane.

Sirius flitted in front of Jane, his reactions taking on a new type of super-speed. "NO!" He bared his fangs.

She stopped. "How dear you get between me and my daughter!" Yelled her mother. "Get out. And enjoy you wedding day with out me, Jane." With that she walked away. Jane fell to the floor with tears upon her face.

"Sirius I am sorry you didn't have to do that." Jane said shaking.

"Of course I did," Sirius said firmly, taking Jane in his arms. "That was... disappointing. And if your mother gives us away to the Lord... Especially if he becomes King... Well, we need to go now. And we might just spend our whole lives running. But it doesn't matter. We're getting married and we have a beautiful daughter." He kissed her forehead hard. "Come on. Run now. Grieve later."

She stood up nodding. And she ran out of the room. "What about Sierra, and Logan?" She asked thinking of her daughter. Jane stopped. "Now what?" She asked.

"Meet them back at the hotel. Sierra and Logan both know about reconnasance. Before throwing themselves in danger, they will check back at the hotel to make sure we haven't been captured." Sirius took the lead and took Jane's hand. "Blast it! No windows! We might just have to attract some attention by breaking through the wall...."

"Is there a back door?" Jane asked, stupidly. Thinking that they could leave through one of those.

Sirius looked at her in disbelief. "It's a tower. There's no back door." He grabbed her around the waist with one arm and with the other extended forwards, he charged at the wall.
There was a terrible noise and the stones seemed to blow apart. Then Sirius was in the air, with Jane in his arms.
His wings were out but he couldn't fly. He wasn't upsidedown.

"Well how was I to know. And I think that I am going to be sick." Jane screamed.

Sirius hit the ground, shoulder first. It had been a long way down. He grunted in agony as one of his wings crumpled. "That'll heal..." He muttered as he picked Jane up. Some guests were running away and spotted Jane and Sirius. With quick thinking, Sirius picked up on their main topic of chatter. "Uh... We had to get away from that crazy vampire kid. She'll kill someone!"
"She already has," said a vampire darkly as he stalked away.
Sirius' eyes widened. "S-s-she broke her oath!"

Jane heard that and passed out. She broke her oath. Oh god.

Sirius was in a state of shock himself, but he came to his senses enough to catch Jane and flit back to the hotel in a daze. He laid her on their bed. "Love... I worry..." He stroked her hair as he lay beside her.

Jane let a moan escape from her mouth. The day's event's flashed in her mind. The one that stuck out the most was their daughter, Sierra.

Logan answered Sierra's call by uttering a bloodthirsty growl and grabbing Sierra, ran toward the approaching guards, he ducked round them and headed for the door.

Sierra was in shock, hardly believing what she had just done. She used her legs, dangling from Logan's arms, to kick aside the door as they burst through. "Oh man. Tomorrow I'm going to be older than you!" She whimpered as she stood back up onto her feet, ready to flit back to the hotel, hoping her parents would be there. Tears were blurring her vision.

Logan ignored Sierra's tears knowing there were more important matters at hand.
"Hurry up and go.I'll hold them off for a while."He said to her."I'll be there in a little while."

Sierra shook her head. "No, you come with me. We're just attracting more attention here. I'll carry you if need be. I flit faster than most adults." Her voice broke as she realised that she didn't have much more time left as a child.

Logan almost laughed at her suggestion.
"No thanks, I was just worried about the guards, but if you think you can out flit them then sure we'll go."He replied

Sierra gave a sad smile, the laughter gone from her eyes. She could feel the broken oath starting to take effect. "Let's go," She grabbed him arm and practically dragged him behind her as they flitted to the hotel. When she got there, she curled into a ball in her room , leaving the door open, and cried into her dress. It was ruined.

Sirius heard something. "Jane, Sierra and Logan's back. We should go see them."

Jane woke up. She ran to Sierra. "Sierra dear?" She asked as she poked her head into the room.
